After visiting Barcelona in 2024 (check out that blog HERE!), I absolutely fell in love with Spain. It checks all the boxes to achieve a European vacation with brilliant weather, architecture that leaves you in awe while eating and drinking your way through its vibrant cities.
So when my husband’s flight to Palma was fairly empty this summer and my parents were already in town, offering to help with our girls, I packed my carry-on and off we went!

Palma de Mallorca is the capital and largest city of the Balearic Islands in Spain.

I had exactly 24 hours to explore before we headed home, so we painfully skipped a nap upon arrival, ate breakfast at our hotel (which literally looked like a castle) and headed into the Old Town!

If you’ve been to Spain you can’t help but to be immersed in the life and work of Antoni Gaudi. His influence can be seen all throughout the country, including this beautiful gothic cathedral. As it was still early, we couldn’t explore inside the church, but just getting to walk around its structure on empty streets as the city was waking up was well worth it!

As we were walking we passed this beautiful gnarled olive tree that was located in front of the Palma Town Hall. As we have learned it is over 500 years old!

We finished our morning getting lost in the beautiful streets of Palma, looking for unique gifts and appreciating the beautiful architecture. You can find bigger departments stores, high-end fashion, as well as the little souvenir shops, cafes and boutiques.
We spent the rest of our day taking a nap by our hotel pool, watching a World Cup game and finishing the day at the hotel restaurant as we were too tired to venture back out! It happens to the best of us!
I’m beyond grateful for these adventures of exploring different corners of the world while also getting to watch ‘a day in the life’ with my pilot husband!
What is your favorite city in Spain? Where should we venture next?! 👇🏼

Thanks for stopping in! Let’s stay connected and see the world together!
